The golden moment

Data are ideally registered when the injured person is treated at "the golden moment".

Firstly, in most cases the patient is more than willing to talk about the circumstances leading to the injury.
The history is needed anyway by the health care provider to be used in the patient journal.

Moreover the storytelling may have an advantageous debriefing effect.
Data quality rapidly declines when hours, days or weeks pass before registering data on when, where and how the injury occurred.

Recall bias may be avoided when the golden moment principle is used.
